Featured on the January 18th, 2024 edition of ARIZONA SPOTLIGHT with host Mark McLemore:

  • How different is the way we see ourselves compared to how others see us? Artists from ArtWorks, an all-day program for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities, were paired up with students from the University of Arizona’s Art and Visual Education program to create portraits of each other, for an innovative gallery show called “Face 2 Face”. The show is open through January 26th at the BIO5 Institute located at 1657 East Helen Street in the north-eastern corner of the University of Arizona campus.

  • Meet Ingrid Griffith, an actor from New York who is visiting The Invisible Theatre to present her show Unbossed and Unbowed, about the life of political pioneer Shirley Chisholm. Griffith talks to Mark about taking on the personas of fifteen different characters to tell Chisholm’s inspiring life story. Performances are Saturday, January 20th at 7:30 pm, and Sunday, January 21st at 2:00 pm at (The Berger Performing Arts Center)[http://bergercenter.com/].

  • And, meet some of the young cast of Alice By Heart. It is a musical about a young girl taking refuge in a London Underground station during World War II, where she confronts grief, loss, and love with the help of characters from her favorite book, Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.
