A Tucson nonprofit called Wholistic Transformation is moving closer to building a tiny home community for youth exiting the foster care system by utilizing the shipping containers that once were part of Gov. Doug Ducey’s border wall. Wholistic Transformation’s director Bryan Benz isn’t just looking to build a tiny housing community, but to also create a support system for these youth. He hopes to build a community of seven tiny homes that will not only help provide affordable housing but will also include a resident navigator who will be available on premises. Each tiny home will be a one-bedroom house with a full kitchen and bathroom, including a washer and dryer.
