A new report from Attom Data shows that homes are getting more affordable in much of Arizona, but prices remain out of reach for a typical earner in the state.
The real estate data company calculates its affordability index based on median home price and average wage.
It found that all eight of the Arizona counties it tracks remain unaffordable, though conditions improved in all but one of those counties from the previous quarter.
Cochise County is closest to having a market that Attom would define as affordable, with 30% of an average wage covering the cost of buying a median-priced home. That's followed by Yuma county at 37% and Pima at 39%.
The most unaffordable county of those surveyed is Yavapai, where buying a median-priced home would take more than 60% of the average wage.
