It's difficult to describe The Aquabats! to adults who haven't seen them, but kids catch on pretty quick. They are a band of musicians who aren't exactly superheroes, but they wear matching costumes and have adventures that follow their own brand of cartoon logic.
Since forming the group in the early 1990s, lead singer and idea man Christian Jacobs has seen The Aquabats! change and grow, and come back from the brink of breaking up more than once. Earlier attempts to start a television show starring the band failed to catch fire, but Jacobs found it easier to gain traction after he co-created the successful preschool children's show Yo Gabba Gabba.
The Aquabats! Super Show debuted on The Hub cable network in 2012, and quickly gained a cult following for its blend of music, comedy, animation, and monster-fighting action. Together, Jacobs' character The MC Bat Commander and band mates Crash McLarson, Ricky Fitness, Eaglebones Falconhawk and Jimmy the Robot travel the land in their custom-made Battle Tram, always ready to do battle with evil - no matter how unbelievable.

The Aquabats! bring their unpredictable costumed super-show to The Rock on Tuesday, September 22nd.
