They say a bird in the hand worth two in a bush. That’s doubly true for a piece of an asteroid that’s millions of miles away. The OSIRIS REx mission, designed to bring back that sample, just passed a major milestone in its journey. On May 20th, the spacecraft left the safe, clean confines of Lockheed Martin in Denver, Colorado on its way to the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida
