U.S. Rep. Raúl Grijalva, D-Ariz., announced Thursday he will support Hillary Clinton for president.
Grijalva was the first member of Congress to endorse Clinton’s rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders. Sanders and Grijalva campaigned together across the country including recently in California.
Sanders is still in the presidential race but is mathematically eliminated from gaining the Democratic nomination.
Grijalva is a member of the Democratic platform committee and co-chair of the Congressional progressie Caucus.
The six-term congressman from Tucson said he will push to include many of the themes of the Sanders’ campaign at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia next month.
