The Arizona summer poppy is not really a poppy, but it’s a welcome treat for those who are looking for color during our hot and humid monsoon. Related to the creosote, the seeds of the summer poppy can remain in the ground for several years until the right conditions of sustained summer rains allow them to grow and flourish such as during monsoon 2017.
