Arizona roadways may be busy over the Labor Day Weekend.
Survey results from AAA Arizona show 64 percent of respondents have plans to travel over the holiday weekend.
While the roads may be busy, family-friendly stops along the way may not be.
Two-person travel parties make up 53 percent of travelers, and singles make up another 14 percent.
“We look at Labor Day as less of a family travel weekend and more of a couple’s retreat if you will,” said AAA Arizona's Michele Donati.
She said Arizona’s families tend to sit out Labor Day travel since local schools are already back in session.
Regardless of travel plans, favorite outdoor recreation sites could be busy.
“Seventy percent of those we surveyed say they plan on spending time outdoors," she said. "Dining out was also very popular, and indoor recreation, from enjoying a museum or shopping, rounded out the top three.”
Nearly three-quarters of survey respondents who plan to hit the road will keep their travels within the state.
