Mihai Surdeanu, Associate Professor of Computer Science, presents Part Two of the UA’s 2018 Science Lecture Series this coming Monday evening at 7pm.
Professor Surdeanu will focus on the ongoing achievements in the area artificial intelligence and some of the tremendous results that have taken place recently. In his address, Surdeanu will analyze questions about whether artificial intelligence will surpass human intelligence and do machines really think. He will illustrate that AI does not think the way we do, that machines do not have a good way to reason and are not self- aware. However, artificial intelligence does perform better than humans at certain task and this lecture will describe some of those applications.
