In the home stretch to Election Day, candidates in closely watched races got a boost from some big names in politics.
President Donald Trump stumped for Republican Senate candidate Martha McSally in Mesa. Days later, Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders appeared alongside Democratic gubernatorial candidate David Garcia at the University of Arizona. Political communications expert Kate Kenski explained the impact these types of rallies can have on the polls. She also discussed how voters' reactions to negative rhetoric has changed, and how female candidates are scrutinized differently from their male counterparts.
