Hydraulic fracturing, or "fracking" has become a popular way to extract natural gas over the past 15 years, but traditional means of pulling up energy-producing materials may be more damaging to the environment. University of Arizona hydrology professor Jennifer McIntosh is researching how extraction techniques take their toll on groundwater.
Jennifer McIntosh spoke with Tim Swindle, director of the University of Arizona Lunar and Planetary Laboratory.
