Former Tucson legislator Olivia Cajero Bedford dies at age 83

The Tucson native served continuously in either the state house or senate from 2003 to 2019.

Gov. Doug Ducey has ordered flags at state buildings lowered to half-staff Friday in honor of former state lawmaker Olivia Cajero Bedford.

Her death was announced on the state senate floor Thursday.

Cajero Bedford, a Tucson native, served continuously in either the state house or senate from 2003 to 2019.

Pima County supervisor Sharon Bronson praised Cajero Bedford's record of public service and noted she followed in the footsteps of her parents, who both served in the Legislature for nearly 30 years.
