A reportedly impaired driver crashed into the border patrol checkpoint outside of Tombstone, Tuesday night.
The 43-year-old man was driving from Bisbee to Tucson on State Route 80, with a passenger in the vehicle.
The Tombstone Marshal's Office responded to the scene, followed by the Department of Public Safety and other federal agencies.
Tombstone Marshal Jim Adams said Plotts was driving over the speed limit and crashed into the guard shack where one federal agent was located. Three others were behind the structure.
No one was seriously injured, but the damage was significant.
After the driver was medically cleared he was booked into the Cochise County Jail and is being held on $75,000 bond.
Plotts is now facing four counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, aggravated assault while impaired, and felony criminal damage charges.
Authorities are still waiting for the results of the blood alcohol test.
